The Idea
The idea to start TanzanArt came as a result of a visit to Tanzania in summer 2009 where we saw some amazing paintings from several artists in coastal mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. We thought that those paintings could sell outside Tanzania and help the talented artists by selling abroad while at the same time giving an opportunity to people outside Tanzania to experience extraordinary Tanzanian art. Our wish is to create a link between the artist in Tanzania and the buyer in Denmark.
Fair Co-operation
It is important for us to do fair co-operation with our artists in order to help them building up their own life in Tanzania.
To ensure that we search for artists who can express in depth a unique personality in their paintings that distinguish them from other artists in their style. The paintings should tell a story about life in Tanzania which the outside world might find interesting. At the same time the artists should be ambitious and dedicated to sharpen and develop their personal expressions.
Finally, we look for artists who are able to keep a certain standard and quality so that the painting always gives the best impression of the artist and satisfy the buyers.

Kamilla is currently on her master thesis in Communication about Internet Marketing and Communication. Wilson will do his master thesis in the spring 2011 within Supply Chain Management.
As we live in Denmark, we take responsibility in dealing with everything concerning the exhibitions, marketing, networking, website and the contact to our buyers for the artists. Our artists will make the paintings, send them by mail and update us about the new painting designs they make. The profit is shared equally and our part of the profit goes to the business itself. Currently we are exhibiting paintings for a distinctive Tanzanian artist called Bwango.
